Drugstore chain recalls cleaning wipes because of microbiological contamination

The Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety and the drugstore chain Müller Handels GmbH & Co. KG warn of cosmetic cleaning wipes that are microbially contaminated. There is a health risk if the wipes come into contact with the eyes.

The manufacturer Dr. Schumacher calls back the cosmetic product "CV Perfect Lift pampering cleaning wipes, 25 pieces". The items were sold between September 18, 2019 and January 22, 2020. The affected products can also be identified by the EAN 2200223815216 and the batch number 214915.

Where were the cleaning tissues sold?

The cleaning cloths were sold exclusively through the Müller drugstores in the federal states of Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Berlin, Hamburg, Hesse, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Saarland, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia, as well as through the Müller online store.

Wipes should no longer be used

The Müller company asks its customers to stop using the cleaning wipes specified above. Contact with the eyes poses a health hazard. The manufacturer has not yet released precise information on what type of microbiological contamination it is.

What measures are required?

If you have already bought the “CV Perfect Lift pampering cleaning wipes”, you can return the items to any branch of the Müller drugstore. The purchase price will be reimbursed there - even without presentation of the receipt. If you have more specific questions about the recall, you can contact the customer service of Müller at 00800/174 00 174 or write an email to [email protected] The manufacturer can also be contacted directly at [email protected] (vb)
